Who We Are
The Space Club is a growing community that is willing to help artists and give feedback so the quality of pieces can be improved, but we do so in a way that any medium is accepted and anyone is accepted. Our club focuses solely around art containing celestial bodies, stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae, etc.
Anyone interested in space art is welcome to join the Space Club. Once you join, you can submit art to our gallery, share your artwork in our chat, and participate in contests and collaborations.
In The Beginning...
~Lizzys searched deviantArt for months, trying to find a decent club for Space Artists. The only ones she could find had been long inactive, and had strict guidelines on who could join. She imagined a club that would allow a multitude of members - from beginners to the masters of the art; a club that could grow and teach at the same time. After a failed search, she decided to create the community she desired. With the chosen help of a close friend and other dedicated Space Fanatic, ~yaminohoshii, #Space-Club was born.
My Relation to Space ArtMore
I originally got into Space Art around five or so years ago. I was fascinated by the likes of Greg Martin and Gary Tonge. I began following tutorials, until I was comfortable enough to start experimenting with my own ideas. Although I am by no means a master, or any where near it, I love exploring the endless possibilities of Space Art.
My Educational Background and Work History
I went to a very small college in Raleigh, North Carolina - The School of Communication Arts. I graduated Valedictorian of my class, receiving an Associates Degree in Digital Media. Throughout college I worked on a couple freelance projects, and I still pick one up every now and then. Two months after graduating, I landed myself a job as a Junior Web Designer at a company called Graphik Dimensions Ltd. I am still working there, and I do the majority of the web design and coding for their main website, pictureframes.com. So if you need any of your art work framed... you know where to look!
Skills and Programs
I use Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, and Illustrator on a day-to-day basis. I rarely use Flash, and I'm not a big fan of it - but I do recognize the need to familiarize myself with it. I love experimenting with After Effects, and I also enjoy piecing together videos with Sony Vegas.
I aspire to work at a gaming company such as Blizzard or EA. I plan to go back to school and get my Masters Degree in either 3D Modeling, Animation/Special Effects, or continuing my Digital Media degree.
